Dr. Jeffrey Kegarise

Dr. Kegarise serves as the President and Chief Operating Officer of The Center for Professional Development, LLC, a management consulting firm assisting doctors in clinical and managerial practices. 

His leadership extends to the position of President at Cool Springs Eye Care and Donelson Eye Care, where he has contributed over 25 years of service to the Middle Tennessee region. He earned his doctorate of optometry from Ohio State University and completed a Residency in Family Practice Optometry at The University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Early in his career, Dr. Kegarise focused on eye disease, leading optometric referral centers in Birmingham, AL, and Nashville, TN. The State of Tennessee acknowledged his dedication with the TN Quality Awards for Business. 

Transitioning to consulting, he gained recognition from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Boston, MA, as one of three international experts and innovators in healthcare design and leadership. He played a crucial role as a founding member of IHI’s Idealized Design in Healthcare Project IDCOP, contributing to a model for ambulatory care medicine.

Dr. Kegarise also consulted with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) to enhance coordination and transition of care methods. He maintains faculty status with The Institute for Healthcare Improvement and holds an affiliation with Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, as an adjunct in the Dartmouth Institute Microsystem Academy.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Kegarise is a passionate basketball coach and player, emphasizing his commitment to being a better father and husband than any business accomplishments. He bleeds Scarlet and Gray, avidly attending as many Buckeye football games as possible, and enjoys travel with his wife.
